IMPORT_PROPER TP_STEP_FAILURE 0016

Hi everyone,

We are installing SPS11 into SOLMAN system and facing the following error:

-   Error in phase: IMPORT_PROPER

-   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE

-   Return code: 0016

-   Error message: OCS Package SAPK-707BRINBICONT, tp step "I",

Then, when I go to log I find this error:

SQL error 24374 occured: ORA-24374: define not done before fetch or execute and fetch

I will be pretty grateful with your help.

Hi Daniel,

I was able to resolve my issue. Its a bug with latest kernel which has the R3trans with a bug. Although SAP support is asking to use latest version, I went backwards and used R3trans patch 100 for 721 release and I am able to now run through with the IMPORT phase, I have told SAP to get message forwarded to developers and get the latest R3trans with this bug fixed.

For now, I suggest to use a corresponding lower release for your kernel level and try if it helps.

Hello,

we are facing the same issue and are hoping for the new version of R3trans.

Anyhow, we would be interested in finding an older version of R3trans. In SolMan / SDWC we only found the actual Buggy-Version.

Can anyone give us a hint for that problem?

Hi Markus,

Can you provide details of version being used when you encountered this error ? The older version of the patches can be downloaded from the kernel under SWDC, you need to download the older DB Independent part for your OS, and then you can find required older patches of R3trans under it.

Hi Daniel,

I am facing same error in import of SAPKB700015 package, I have reached SAP support as mentioned in ORA error, there are currently no SAP notes I can see for this, please advise if you get a resolution, I will update once I hear back from SAP support.

Please update latest TP, R3trans then Run the \$sync and try again.  Hope, It will be helpful.

If you still face same issue then please arise a OSS to SAP support.

I've just finished an installation of solman 7.1 SP11 and did get a tp error (8) but not for the same component.

I did not investigate the error in detail as the information from the here under post solved my issue.

I did just downgrade the R3trans I was previously asked to upgrade by SUM.

It seems that there are bugs on the latest (over patch 201 for 721 kernels) R3trans versions.

This seems to be issue with the R3trans. Please update the R3trans to a lower version (201).

Please note that in the phase the R3trans which is being used is from the the directory

../SUM/abap/exe/ , so you need to update the R3trans in this directory.

2. During this error have got any dump in transaction ST22 ?

I've already tried restarting the whole system even the OS but the error remains, sadly.

Additionay, there are no dumps in st22 and here is my import log.
