Hello,

business partner roles are only a technical issue in eRecruiting.

As part of the integration between HR and the SAP Business Partner the system assigns the role BUP003 to every business partner of an internal candidate. This applies to integrated installations as well as to standalone systems using ALE to create internal candidates. Candidates which are created by using RCF_CREATE_USER get this role assigned, too. This is set in T77S0 under CPERS PROLE.

In addition to this role eRecruiting is using the business partner roles to tag business partners as branches, agencies and vendors (the last is not fully sure as the setting is not documented in the system, in addition this can differ depending on the release). If you are maintaining the system parameters for eRecruiting (T77S0) in the IMG you will find the business partner roles RCFAGY, RCFBRA and RCFVEN for parameters RECFA AGYRO, RECFA BRARO and RECFA VENRO. To work properly the business partners need these roles. E.g. if you assign a business partner as branch in T77RCFBRANCHCOMP which was directly created in transaction BP and does not have the role set under RECFA BRARO it will not be available in the application when you assign branches to requisitions.

But if you are using the correct eRecruiting tools to maintain these business partners. E.g. the branch maintenance in the recruiting administrator portal role you do not have to care about all these things. Furthermore I have never had any reason to change these settings.

Long things short. If the 4 roles are set in T77S0 as described and if you are using the right tools you will never have to think about business partner roles in eRec .

Kind regards
