Charasteric value for variable by default from Auth object

Hello experts,

Is it possible to populate the value of a charasteristic based on user authorization in the query variable ?

Suppose the user is authorized to top node of an hierarchy say Company code 1000 , so I would like to display that  value in the selection screen of the query when user executes the query , later on he may input lower level nodes in that variable if he needs.

This following thread clearly explains how to create a auth object for a char but I want to populate that values by default in the query variable.

Please share your experience on this. If I need to access any tables etc ....

Hi,

Whenever you create variable processing type by authorization then you need to maintain authorization values for users in RSECADMIN.

If you did that then when ever user will execute query which have your varibale (by authorization).He will see in variable screen whatever values ha has authorized.No need to do any diffrent setting.
