SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0 technical upgrade

Hello Everyone,

What is SRM functional consultant's role in SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0 technical upgrade. My client wants to do only technical upgrade.

How should I approach this project in terms of deliverable ? what are the first few things SRM functional consultant does in this kind of projects.

I am new to SRM and your valuable input can really help me a lot.

Hi Khusbhu,

As Ivy has suggested correctly, I request you to go through the migration guide which will give you a better understanding on the upgrade.

According to your query on Functional consultant role, I think the below are key responsibilities.

1.) Understand the current enhancements and check how you are going to achieve that after upgrade by discussing with your technical team

2.) Review the list of BADI's which are all implemented in the current system and check whether it is still valid in SRM 7.0. Please refer page number 34 in SRM Migration guide.

3.) Roles Migration from SRM 5 to 7 if there is no security consultant

4.) Decision on the work flow - whether you will be continuing the existing Application controlled work flow or you are going to switch to Process controlled work flow

5.) Test Script preparation and execution for all the business process

Where can i find the SRM 7.0 migration guide ? It is asking for the SAP market place user ID and password which i do not have.

Hi Khusbhu,

I am not sure on how can I help here. When the customer is using the existing SRM 5.0 system, I am sure they must be having SAP marketplace user id and password.

to get known how to access SMP.

      ->SAP SRM Server 7.0

Here you will find the correct SRM 7.0 information about upgrade:

Please note SRM7.0 is technically different from SRM5.0, and it is based on webdynpro technique now.
