hi ,

Is it possible that 2 people can launch the DMO tool at the same time, one who navigates and other who is an observer .

Thank you

Jonu Joy

Hello Jonu Joy,

yes, it is possible.

To be more precise: you launch the SUM (which is the "tool") from within a browser to start the Database Migration Option (DMO - which is the "use case"). If you then open a second browser window from a different PC (or the same), this second browser request will be handled by the same SUM instance. The tool is not started twice.

Both browser sessions have to authenticate with <sid>adm, and both will be able to navigate - there is currently no observer mode like in standard SUM use cases. That is the reason why the browser UI uses a timeout in a dialog without action, so you have to reconnect to assure that the dialog is still relevant.

Thx much Boris, so when someone is working on the first browser, will the changes be reflected for the person watching the second session .

yes, as long as the person watching the second session takes care for refreshing the browser to see the actual status - this is enforced by the timeout mentioned above.

thank you Boris, can this timeout be increased/decreased by some parameter .

No way to set the timeout, timeout duration is fix. Do you see a benefit in adapting the timeout triggered by the UI? The refresh can always be done manually ...
