Is it still currently true that sap connector for ms.net is not supported in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005??
Yes this is true.
As described in <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_op/~form/handler{5f4150503d3030323030363832353030303030303031393732265f4556454e543d444953504c4159265f4e4e554d3d393433333439}">SAP Note 943349 SAP Connector for MS .NET (NCO) and VS 2005</a> the SAP connector for Microsoft .NET is not supported for VS 2005. Please have a look at the attached note for a workaround that has been described.
If your SAP server is based on a NetWeaver Application Server Web services are the recommended way to be used. Every remote enabled function module can be published as a Web service using the Web service creation wizard.
On the .NET interop page you will find several examples how to leverage Web services.
