Hello!
I have 2 problem with the alert monitor.
First, I don't undertstand, in the alert profile setting, the use of the block Period. Could you explain me?
Then, in the display alerts screen, the filed variance in % is in absolute value. How can i set it in real value.
Example:
Target value = 1 Actual value = 0,4 => Variance in % = ( 1- 0,4)/1 = 60%
Target value = 1 Actual value = 3 => Variance in % = ( 1- 3)/1 = -200%
In the second case, the Variance is 200% in the display alert screen instead of
-200%.
Thanks for your help,
regards,
Laurent B.
hi laurent
Periods - This is used to restrict the number or alerts generated
the idea is to get alerted only to the issues relevant to planning.
alerts in say 30 months from now might be less relevant than alerts from 2 months to 6 months. Likewise depending on the situation, it might not make sense to look at alerts for this week since there is not much planning you can do at short notice
this block is used either as absolute or relative times
Absolute times - you give a from and a start date
Relative - you specify no of periods (say 6 months) with offset period (say 1 month) to get all alerts for 2-6 months
variance by definition is dispersion from the statisticscal mean
it says how far away the numbers are from their mean and not whether is lower or higher
To see the real value, you can probably create your own macro alert based on differences
Btw.. I thought you would expect the case where the actual is less than target to be negative in your example ?

Thank you <u>very much</u> for your help. I will have a look at the oss notes.

In one of your oss note i found the Badi /SAPAPO/AM_ALERTLIST :
Note 830673:
<b><i>Customer specific fields are missing in ALV alert display structure</b>: Please use the BAdi "SAPAPO/AM_ALERTLIST" to add them. The implementation will be done in the method "MODIFY_ALERTLIST" of the interface "/SAPAPO/IF_EX_AM_ALERTLIST".</i>
I could use it to add the Variance in real value!
Do you know this BADI?
I put a break point in my implementation in order to see the content of the parameters but there is no break when i redetermin alerts.
Sorry dont know much about the BadI...
also give the macro way a shot it migh be easy
there is some help here
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/60/0fc5744afe11d3983b0000e8a49608/frameset.htm
and an example of a macro alert here
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/47/7a58398d594e1de10000000a11402f/content.htm
lets know if you want some help with the macro
incidentally it was martin who gave the OSS notes.. you might want to reward him instead of me
