Kaltura in HANA Cloud Portal

Hi experts,

Yesterday I tried to use the Video Player Widget to embed both a youtube as a Kaltura video into Cloud Portal. Youtube worked fine, but I was not able to insert a Kaltura movie. Can someone give an example how to do this?

Hi Bob,

If you have an account in Kaltura (Kaltura Video Platform) you can simply place the URL for the video or provide the embed HTML code in the cloud portal video widget. Take a look at the following blog:

Thanks for your reply. I tried the steps mentioned in the blog/help pages and it works fine for youtube, but both the embedded code as the url of Kaltura are not accepted by the widget.

Hi Bob,

There seem to be a problem with the url provided by Kaltura, we will look into it. However I managed to use the embed code in the video widget. We can have a quick call to solve that if needed.

Hi Bob,

I'm Itay from Kaltura - nice to e-meet you.

I just revisit the SAP HANA portal and i was able to view Kaltura video with the video widget and the url widget.

if you want to use the video widget make sure you select from Kaltura preview&embed screen the following advance options:

1. Embed type = auto embed.

2. Support for https embed code - checked.

after that just copy the code and put it in the video widget - everything will work.

Example:

if you want to use the URL widget - change the embed type to iframe embed and grab the iframe URL from the code.
