Hello,
could anyone explain what 'purchase to order' and 'order fulfillment' mean
thanks
Hi Raj,
I think you are aware of O2C process which SD guys usually come across.
This starts from the order goes to delivery then PGI then Billing then receiving the cash from the customer. This is the general process which we SD guys are looking for it important.
Whereas for the MM guys who involve in the purchase of goods for the manufacture of goods and service, then comes into picture the process
P2O ie., Purchase to Order.

Hi,
As in SD we call order to cash which includes all those activities starting from order delivery billing, similarly the SD-MM would include " Procure to pay " . Purchase to order would include the MM guys making the purchanse fromthe vendor, making the goods receipts and finally the SD guys selling it by an order.
Order fulfillment is to ensure all the activities associated to ensure completioin of an order that it reaches the customer.
Hope it helps. Please reward if useful. Just to remid please award points to all helpful answersfor your previous postings and close the threads if answered.
Best Regards
Sadhu Kishore
