SAP instalation

hi all, I tried loading SAP on my system, my sys configuration is as follows...160 GB harddisc, 512 RAM, P4 3ghz, fox conn board...when i loaded SAP..the system became very very slow.., it was loaded on win2000. PLEASE let me know what is wrong. and wht is the solution.

perhaps you forgot to compile ABAP loads with tcode SGEN?

but most probably your 512MB is the culprit.

4.7, you think 512 RAM is low...cos when spoke to some other tec guys..they said..512's cool, but the motherboard seems to be a problem...i dont know wht to do...pls dont mind me asking again but are you sure the 512 RAM is the only problem...not the board..

no, ram might not be the only problem...disk susbsystem can be a bottleneck as well...which disks architecture do u use? and yes...512 is low...sap recommends at least 1.024 mb...how is your memory sitauation while sap is running?
