reinstall maxdb/livecache

I did an uninstallation of maxdb for livecache unproperly, by deleting the everything under the /sapdb directory. Now when i try to reinstall the db, i got the error message below, even though /sapdb is empty.

"SdbSoftware.getExistingDbmcli(): IndepProgPath /sapdb/programs exists, but /sapdb/programs/bin/dbmcli is missing".

Clearly some variable or file is still storing the "/sapdb" parameter

Anybody knows what is the variable or file, I am in an HP-UX environment.

hi, have a look under

-> /etc/opt

and

-> /var/spool/sql

there you will find some maxdb files that are referenced during installation...next time use the uninstall mechanism of maxdb - it works!

Dear Mr. Onn,

You deleted all database software manually, what is not recommended, /sapdb is empty on your server.

If you would like to uninstall database software next time please use 'sdbuninst' tool < See the SAP note 599129 > !!

I assumed, the file /etc/opt/sdb is still existing on the database server.

As of version 7.5, the file /etc/opt/sdb is created during the database sofware installation.

If all(!) database software was deleted on the server, then please also delete the file ( directory /sapdb is empty 😞

/etc/opt/sdb ( file )

&&

/usr/spool/sql ( subdirectories )

And run the installation of the database after that.

Thank you and best regards, Natalia Khlopina
