Can we implement SAP Fiori in a single Netweaver Server(both front-end & back-end)

Hello,

We are planning to implement SAP Fiori and deploy one of the Business Suite Application Apps (Transnational Types).

As per SAP it is recommended to separate front-end component with the UI layer from back-end components & business logic - SAP Fiori App Types and Database Requirements - SAP Fiori for SAP SRM 1.0 - SAP Library

However, is it possible to implement both the front-end and back-end components in a single Netweaver Server ?

The implementation is R&D purpose and not for production, hence we are looking for minimum infrastructure for deployment.

as mentioned here Deployment of SAP NetWeaver Gateway - SAP Fiori transactional apps for SAP ERP 1.0 - SAP Library it is recommended to use central hub deployment to separate back end from front end but since you want it for R&D you can check the embedded deployment mentioned here Deployment Options - SAP NetWeaver Gateway Master Guide - SAP Library

Thanks for replying and providing the link for NW Gateway deployment varients (Central hub deployment & Embedded deployment).
However, I didnt came across any documents related to embedded deployment for Fiori as a whole which describes about configuration related to the other areas apart from NW gateway, for example:

Central UI component
Product Specific UI components

Webdispatcher

Please let know if you come across any link related to overall Fiori embedded deployment.

Hi Suvonkar,

Yes you can deploy both the Fiori Odata add-on and UI add-on in the same server.

This is Self-Contained Deployment where you can have Gateway, ECC, Fiori Odata addon and Fiori UI addon in the same same server.

The other scenario is with the Central Hub deployment where you Gateway and Fiori UI add on in one server and ECC and Odata add-on in another.

Could you provide any reference document for embedded deployment for Fiori as a whole. And the configuration for embedded deployment for wave 2 apps.

Hi Suvonkar,

please find an example below for the Wave 2 HCM apps.

UIX01HCM is the wave2 UI for the HCM apps.

HCM Fiori add-ons will require your OData addons like SRA002 and SRA010.

You can have NW AS 7.02 or 7.31 or 7.40

With NW 7.40 the gateway components are already included. With previous version you need to have gateway components installed.
