Oracle installer fails to start due to permission errors

Hi,Recently I was doing the Oracle 11g installation in AIX 7.1 and faced a problem with Oracle installer not being able to start and perform installation.

The RUNINSTALLER errors are as below :

Checking if group services should be configured....ODMDIR=/etc/objrepos, isHACMP=       0Nothing to configure.

I tried checking the permission in tmp folder and also for oracle folders but all seems fine.

Can someone provide resolution steps ?

Hi All,

Thanks for your help and suggestions.

The issue has been identified and it is related to oracle file systems mount point.

The Unix consultant unmounted the filesystems and found it was mounted with root user.

Later the same has been mounted with orauser and issue has been resolved.

The installation of Oracle successfully completed.

Hi Karthikeyan,

Oracle version 11.2.0.3 is being used for installation.

tmp directory is not full as provided the details earlier. So point 7 is not the case.

For point 8 i will check with AIX consultant.

Have you set the DISPLAY variable ?

please check space for directory temp and swap space.

Error message says:
