Hello Amit ,

Please activate "Secure Storage File System" if you are going to use 7.40 Kernel with Oracle DB

Secure Storage in File System (SSFS) for SAP

hi Prithvi,

this error occurs if you are going for a EHP update from kernal <=740 ,

hence before you do the

update you can upgrade your kernal and this issue wont be there .

else follow this blog: to set up the SSFS.

Victor

Victor,

I did the same, I have not yet started my EHP upgrade.

I just did the kernel upgrade and R3trans fails with the above discussed error.

Also I have already implemented SSFS after the kernel upgrade. But still i face the issue.

Hi Prithvi,

Have you created the environment variable

rsdb/ssfs_connect = 1 for both the system and the user ,

try checking if you have created for the system in the OS level .

Victor,

Thanks for your efforts.

My issue has been resolved, the issue was I created a password entry with some database user which was not the owner of the database tables. So the user was able to login to the database but was not authorized to access the database tables. Later I found the owners of the tables and I created a new password entry for SSFS with that user and it worked like charm...!

Hi Amit,

You need to setup SSFS ( secure storage file system ) as advised in blog below , the kernel 740 and higher do not support OPS$ mechanism anymore and hence you are getting the error.
