how to increase the patch level for sap system

we are having sap erp ehp5 system on windows2008 r2 64 bit, i want upgrade the mssql patch. so can any one help how to find the current patch level and

how to applay the new mssql2008 patch to my system

1279358 - Cumulative Update Installation for SQL Server 2008

1473016 - Service Pack Installation for SQL Server 2008

62988 - Service packs for MS SQL Server
