Hi,

In XI, mainly there are two certifications. Development consultant and Technology consultant. Since you are new to XI, I would suggest you to go for development consultant certification. This is easier than the other.

For this certification (XI 3.0 , as far as I know, certification on XI 7.0 is not yet started) you can attend SAP's official training program, which would be 2 weeks (10 days) class room and 1 week self study.

Course code for this would be TBIT40, 41 42, 43 & 44.

However if you know XI and just want to certification, you may not need to attend this training programs. Also there is some cost associated with this training program. If you have not attended the official training program and register for certification, you will have to produce a latter from your employer with your total experience and SAP experience. I think you need show at least 2 years of SAP experience in the letter.

Of course, if you are doing a project and stuck with something, SDN is the best place on the planet to check out. Doing things in a project and writing certification are two different ball games altogether. So SDN may not help you too much for your certification.

For certification, I strongly suggest you to read official training books. When I wrote my certification exam, I remember reading those books 2 or 3 times, and indeed that helped a lot.

So try to get those books , I don't know how, it is copy righted stuff, can't send it. But you might get it from some e-book groups, I don't know !

There are a few books on XI written by various authors, but I don't know how much they would help you, in certification.

Moral of the story: Read the SAP's TBIT 40 ,41, 42 , 43 & 44 books !

hope this helps.

cheers

Practical approach is to use SAP Help, weblogs and how-to-guides.

I am SAP certified and in my feeling for certification SAP help is best source use certification syllabus and then refer to SAP help for knowledge,

Try out various scenario explained in various weblogs to learn XI faster and try to answer questions in forum, it will give you motivation for research and you will come to various things that otherwise you dont know.

BTW for certification your XI experience should be ~ 12month and total SAP experience should be ~ 24month (if you are not attending SAP classroom training).

Regards,

Gourav
