I am little bit confused about the difference between connector and adapter, Please tell me the real difference in between the Connector and an Adapter.

connector is it buniess connector or in general connector . if it is in gemeral then both are same .

The SAP Connectors allow the integration of different applications and technologies with SAP Systems via open standards. The connectors are means for technical interoperability of SAP Components (written in ABAP or ABAP Objects) and other components.

in case you have heard about connector and SAP, maybe you must be refering to Business Connector.
BC - http://www.erpgenie.com/interfaces/businessconnector.htm was used prior to XI. XI replaces BC as Netweaver came in the picture.
An adapter is communication channel in XI which will help you connect to SAP or non SAP systems.
