Hi Guru

we are planing hardware migration on Solaris platform.

source system OS Solaris 10, Database Oracle 11.

target system OS Solaris 11 Database oracle 11 (same)

DB size 1TB

at preset we have all data files on files systems we are planing to migrate ASM based environment

we are adopting system copy backup/restore method.

my queries are

1. is ASM right solution for this size

2. can we use system copy backup/restore method to convert into ASM (RMAN backup)

3. would it be possible you to share step by step instructions for the same

thanking you in anticipation
