what is the difference between item proposal (pv)and product proposal(ms). in which case we can use the both the documents.

Both are same.
It is the proposal of items to a customer saying that so and so materials are available at our company(code).
Once we maintain the item proposal, we have to give the number in the customer master data.
Then we u enter the same customer in the sales order, when u go into the item scrteen, in the menu, select propose items.
Then the system will give the list of items which we had proposed for this customer.
If we select the items and click copy, automatically the items get copied into the sales order.

Hi,
item propasal and product proposal are same, we use to call it as item proposal upto 4.60 and we r calling it as product proposal from 4.6b with Ms doc type with additional functionality of condition record determination with validity periods.
