Shopping cart for services

Hi SRM gurus,

We have created a shopping cart for services whose requirement date is in the past.

Now the manager cannot approve as he didnt do before the requirement date and the requestor cannot change as the req. date is in past.

The error message standard 588, we changed to warning but it is not working for services, still throwing the the same as error message.

Any suggestions/solutions.
