Stange issue with SAP GUi 730

Is anyone else observed below issue with SAP GUi 730 (any patch)

If you select User specified system and enter

1:Application Server

2:System No.

Then even if you enter wrong SID (say XYZ) then also SAP logon opens system with application server name and System no.

Basically it does not check SID at all which is not secure way.

Sometimes user might enter production server name and system no and end up login in to production envirnoment\

Hi,

This issue is not only for SAPGUI 730, it is there in every release. Basically SAPGUI checks for your IP and Instance number.

Hi

Yes, you can connect the SAPGUI application server dispatcher without typing SID

in windows OS start - run just type the command '"SAPGUI (Application server name) Instance number"
