Hello Experts,
We have an SAP ECC 6.0 system running on OS400 with db2 (DB400 with V7R1).
We are trying to evaluate the OS performance ,
When we look at the ST06 memory for last 24 hours overview we get the following result.
I know that in windows a permissible value of 20% is allowed .
Can you please tell me the recommendation for AS400?
Kind Regards,
Jacob
Hi Jacob,
For AS400 environment as well 20% limit exists.
Refer SAP help for more details
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_40b/helpdata/EN/02/962824538111d1891b0000e8322f96/content.htm
Number of active work processes: 10
(AS/400 jobs in status RUN)
Number of page faults per active work process: 20 per second
Allows: 200 page faults per second
Paging overhead per work process: 200 ms per second
(accepted average response time of hard disk is 10 ms)
That corresponds to a paging overhead of 20%. The 20% limit should not be exceeded.
Hope this helps.

Hello Deepak,
Thanks for the answer.
I had a look at the help.sap.com link. It says for AS 400 the pages in should be equal to pages out .
In our case it is correct. But is "Zero".
How can i evaluate from the screenshot whether it has exceeded 20% threshold or not?
Sorry I haven't worked in AS400 , Please excuse me for asking basic question....
Kind Regards,
Jacob
Hi Jacob,
In your case it looks like system is not displaying data correctly. The columns highlighted should not be zero actually.
Can you look into troubleshooting steps for incorrect data on ST06
Refer to relevant SAP notes mentioned in the link above.
Hope this helps.
