Hi Experts,

Planning to do CI and DB split to an AIX + DB2 system.

CI will be moved to Linux and DB2 retained on AIX itself.

What would be the best procedure and any reference guide for the same.

kindly suggest the exact steps for ABAP/JAVA and Dual stack systems and execution method.

Thanks a ton

Hi Daniel,

Using sapinst would be preferred and easy while performing this migration for CI from AIX to Linux. Use the option distributed as also suggested by others.

Hi ,

Want to separate CI alone and put it on Linux machine. DB will be on current server AIX only.

how system copy can be used?

How heterogenous/homogenous system copy can be used because there is no database planned on the Linux machine.

Please let me know the steps.

Thanks a ton

You need to do a Homogeneous system copy using sapinst by following the distributed set up.

Hi Daniel,

For dual stack system, suggestion would be perform export of CI instance ABAP+ JAVA stack and import it into new environment.

For ABAP stack you may simply re-install CI on new host.

Hope this helps.
