Can Dev and QA run on SAP HANA database where as Prod running on SAP HANA appliance

Hello SAP HANA Experts,

Can you please answer my query?

In case of BW running on SAP HANA or SAP Business Suites running on SAP HANA, In three system landscape, will it be possible to run production system on SAP HANA appliance whereas DEV and QA system running on SAP HANA database (but not in appliance).

Dear Bhupesh,

The DEV and QAS system can run on a separate HANA DB and not on an HANA Appliance if

1) The Hardware on which the HANA DB is going to be deployed is certified by SAP HANA.

2) Meets the minimum hardware requirement for HANA DB.

3) The OS is SLES and Licensed

The above has to be satisfied else the HANA DB will not be supported by SAP and this will not be available for any OSS support.

Kindly raise it the query with SAP Support for getting the final confirmation before proceeding.
