I ran SGEN to compile all BASIS objects but there are not sufficient disk space and SGEN stops with an error.
I freed up 2GB of disk space and re-run SGEN, but the same screen appears.
Load Generator Status
Job Status: Active
Program: 90% Complete
I click on [Terminate Generation] but nothing seems to work.
How can I run SGEN again to re-compile all BASIS objects again? Do I need to stop any ongoing processes? If yes, please give me the details.
Any help is welcome.
It takes a while before stopping generation.
Of course you can recompile all object again, but there is any reason for doint that since sgen restarts from the point where it was stopped.
Cheers,
David

Since I do not have sufficient disk space when I first ran SGEN and result in 0bytes in the hard disk, I resolved the disk free space now to 2GB but when I click on [Terminate Generation], nothing happend even for a few days.
How can I see what processes are still holding the system from running SGEN correctly?
/nSM37 and I can see that RSPARAGENER8 is still ACTIVE
Click on [Stop active job (Ctrl+F1)] icon
It shows "Job RSPARAGENER8 is not active - Cancellation not possible"
Click on [Delete job from database (Shift+F2)] icon
Click on [Yes]
It shows "Job RSPARAGENER8 is actve. The selected function cannot be performed.
I am stuck here. If I cannot stop/delete this job, SGEN will not start running.
I am also facing the same problem. However I have enough disk space.
The SGEN stopped after I increased the Dialog work processes and restarted the application server.
I tried to check the status of the job in SM37 however I could not find the job name directly, instead I found some programs there.
How can I solve this problem?
I had the same problem after rebooting the application server:
- an active job without a running process in SM50
- no chance to cancel or delete the job in SM37
The SGEN Job should be found as RSPARAGENER8 with user = * and the start date given by SGEN start date.
The tipp - using the check function SM37 - was very helpful. After executing this check, the job was in the status terminated and I coult restart SGEN.
Best Regards,
Joerg
