Gauravjit
Hi Gauravjit,
Transfer Order(TO): Is basically a document created to map movement of materials within a wearhouse. It is created for one wearhouse no. It is created using Tcode: LT03
Picking activity in SD is done by creation of Tranfer Order. In case we have picking then we have TO. Picking can be controlled thr Delivery Item category.
Picking can be done is 2 ways you can have single step / two step. IN single step picking, the moment you create and save a TO , confirmation is done automatically, this is called To in single step.
In two step picking you create a To using LT03 and save it and then confirmation is done using Tcode LT12. To confirm a TO Picking Qty and Delivery Qty has to mandetorily same. any difference system will not allow you to conifrm the TO.
You can cancel TO using Tcode LT15.
Hope this provides some baisc understanding about TO.
Pl revert back in case you need any further clarifications.
Reward if it helps
regards
Srini

Hi Gauravjit,
In outbound delivery three things plays a vitol role.
1.Picking
2.Packing
3.And PGI or Goods issue.
coming to Picking -- can be done through follwoing :
1. With Warehouse Mangement - Transfer order is created using lean warehouse management with Bins and storage types etc.,.Here warehouse will be assigned to Plant.
If the business is having any warehouse management concept there the Transfer order is created with T.code LT03
2. Without Warehouse Management - Manual Picking will takes place.
Here the creation of transfer order is not requied and you can give the Required picking quantity in outbound delivery of T.Code VL01N
Reward Points if this is really helpful to you,
Warm Regards,

Hi
Transfer orders are created in warehouse managed scenarios where picking for a material takes place from a specific bin in a storage location. The steps involved are creation of transfer order through LT03 and confirming the TO through LT12.
Award points if useful.
