which is the best performance IDT or UDT?

Hi All,

Which is the best performance for universe creation is with "Information design tool" or "Universe design tool" ?

Please explain me when we go for IDT and   when we go for UDT?

Hi

As per my exp.....If you are backed as SAP BW (Bex Q's ) you can use UDT.

other than SAP BW ....you can use IDT.

IDT : Information design tool , it has many advantages compared to UDT

IDT composed of 3 layers  Data Conn , Data Foundation , Business Layer

1. we can create multiple connection's  & multiple foundation at for a single webi report .(UDT single connection )

2. we can view data in 3 layers at any time (We can't view data in UDT )

3. query browser is available for creating queries & testing in IDT itself (Before creating webi Query we can create & check here in IDT itself)

4. IDT will support both SQl & OLAP syntaxes (UDT : only SQl)

Not only this we have more advantages compared to UDT.

if you are using latest version means prefered is IDT
