how to update dual stack kernel

Former Member

hi all,

all we know sap support dual stack in slm and PI.

I had a slm71sr1 install with swpm/jvm use kernel 402 in win2008.

I want to update kernel to ver600.

the abap stack can logon after the update.

but mmc show the java can't startup.

I'd try to run sapcpe

sapcpe pf=<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\profile\<instance profile> list:<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\exe\<uc|nuc>\<platform>\j2eeinst.lst

and

sapcpe pf=<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\profile\<instance profile> source:<sapjvm directory> list:<sapjvm directory>\sapjvm_<version>.lst

but the java instance still can't startup and i had to restore the old kernel.

any one had some idea for dual stack update kernel?

Thanks.

Hi bbs,

You need to run the command

1.sapcpe pf=<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\profile\<instance profile for DVEBGS<xx>

2. sapcpe pf=<drive>:\usr\sap\<SAPSID>\sys\profile\<instance profile SCS<xx> >

Then start the system and let us know the result and also paste the dev_server0 logs as well.

The procedure is same for both the stacks.

You just need to make sure that file are getting replicated to the local executables area.

Hi,

I think the sapcpe program does not copy the kernel to /SCS01/exe.

Try to copy the same kernel to /SCS01/exe.
