We are running SNP Optimization for a simulation version, while we are running the optimizer job, the planners who are working in active version are complaining about system slowness. Any body come across this situation? if so, what your recommendations. Any help is appreciated. We are using SCM 7.2.
thx
Jeff
This sounds like the data update into liveCache in step 3 of optimizer causes liveCache performance down ...

Hello Jeff,
Optimizer works in three steps:
Read master data
optimization
write log
The time consuming steps is the 'optimization', and it works in the optimizer server.
So i do not think for the 1st and 2nd step, it slow the system.
If it really killing the performance then try to break the optimizer job into multiple by creating multiple variant. It depend on the business case as well as master data.
For example, you can not run a shared resource in 2 different jobs.
