J1IEX is used to Capture and Post the Excise Duty invoice if you have activated CIN. MIRO is for Vendor invoice payment. J1IEX is for Excise. Either MIRO is done after capturing J1IEX or before it doesn't matter as long as you post J1IEX. Both are different T-codes used for different purpose.

Dear Mr. Leo,

J1IEX is for Excise capture and post.

you can do capture and post at the time of MIGO or You can capture at the time of MIGO and post after wards whenever required.

Capturing excise will update RG23A /RG23C PART 1 register (QTY)

Posting excise will up[date  RG23A /RG23C PART 2 register (VALUE)

If you post MIRO after posting J1IEX excise duties will flow whatever you have eneterd in J1IEX.

If you post MIRO before posting MIRO excise duties will flow whatever you have maintained at PO level tax codes.

Any how you are required to select at least only capturing excise at the time of MIGO for better results. It would be best if you select capture and post at the time of MIGO.

If you forgot capturing at the time of MIGO. You need to update PART1 in T-code J1I5 against MIGO document and post in J1IEX

HI.

Case-1 MIGO----J1IEX-----MIRO

Here all excise duties will from as per duties posted in J1IEX.

Case-2 MIGO-MIRO-J1IEX

Here duties will flow as per PO tax condition.

Generally if you follow the 2nd case you will get a warning message that CENVAT posting is not done.

So Finance people always follow the case-1 unless untill you take CENTVAT debit in your account, MIRO should not happen because finally you will the total amount to vendor.

e.g if you do MIGO and MIRO and forgot to do J1IEX then you are not eligible to take credit.

So always follow the case-1
