I want install ECC6.0.Can any one please tell what is the java version that i have to install.Please help me.

Hi Siva rao,

When you are working with Java , I suggest you to go ahead with the latest version of Java as it holds the most latest features, and for ECC 6.0 the minimum required is JDK 1.4.2

Hello Siva,

I think you wanna mean what JDK version you need to install.

If I am right, please read the note below:

723909 Java VM settings for J2EE 6.40/7.0

This note is generic. But you will find inside this note a list of notes, each one for each Operating System. In each note there is the minimum JDK version that you have to use. And also, there is the JDK version that you cannot use (if there is).

The minimum java compatibility required for ECC 6.0 is jdk 1.4.2 and jre 1.4.2.

But i'll suggest to configure the latest version to avoid any inconsistencies.

i'd go with 1.4.2_09 because this is specifically linked by the 2004s installer.

Java Version depends on Operating System , You are installing on.

Java Version 1.4.2 is working with ECC 6.0.

But upto which patch level is depends on your OS and server type.
