Storage section sap wm

We have 2 storage section for 1 storage type  they are high frequency & low frequency. We are facing issues where most of the bin in high frequency is being taken by 1 material. for example 1 material has occupied 8 -10 pallets. We want to have only 1 or 2 pallets of that material in high frequency storage section so we can have space for other high frequency mateirals. We want to use control qty i.e. if order qty is more than 600 then pick from low frequency storage setion.

How Do I achieve this changes.

Hi Kiran,

you have to distinguish between putaway and picking.

Here in this example,. "A" may high, "C" may be low freq. used material.

For putaway:

If all "A" bins are empty and you store lots of same material with "A", all "A" bins are used until they are 100% occupied by WM.

To avoid this, you may use fixed bins for each material in a "A" bin region. As an alternative (if you cannot use fixed bins) you may code own putaway strategy where the quantity of a material is checked before a "A" section bin is used.

For picking:

If you want to pick large qty from "C" and small qty from "A" you may setup removal strategy "large/small qty" but then you need two storage types which also reverts settings for putaway.
