Hi,

I have the same error on all the SAP BI 4.1 installation and impossible to resolve the issue with all the workarounds available (SAP Notes, threads, support, SCN, Web). (You're not alone !)

Very strange error and all my customers are asking me why it happens ? No explaination to give, I'm very disapointed.

I'm waiting a REAL solution and at this time, I'lm trying to redeploy webapps entirely and do some tests with webapps and CMS DB....

Hi,

You need to re deploy war files with following the steps bellow:

  1. Stop Tomcat.
  2. Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps
    or similar.
  3. Remove or rename the affected application directory (for example, remove or
rename BOE to redeploy the entire CMC and BI launch pad).
  4. Open the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP
    BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\work\Catalina\localhost or similar.
  5. Remove or rename the same folders removed or renamed in step 3.
  6. Start Tomcat.

Best regards,

Saloua.

Hi,

We are under BI 4.1 SP3 --> Tomcat 7, I already try that kind of workaround, by deleting webapps, redeploy using wdeploy ----> the issue CONTINUE TO EXIST.

Yesterday, I try a FRESH installation (SAP BI41 SP3) ----> the issue CONTINUE TO EXIST.

I am continue to be disappointed.

Hi Laurent,

while reinstall, did you select a blank DB as in a fresh CMS db as well?

HI Laurent,

could not see the attached screenshots?

are you getting ??? for the mobile properties when you right click on any webi document?

1) you have application servers hosted on different box? was it upgraded as well to BI 4.1?

2) did you use mobile services earlier on BI 4.0?

also, check Check out the blog post

Hello,

My responses:

The issue appears on each WebI documents.

   1) Only one BI server is installed (not multinode system)

   2) No, the mobile feature is not yet uses

I already check the blog and try to re-deploy the MobileBIService without success.

Note that the issue also appears on the CMC : CMC -> Applications -> SAP BusinessObjects Mobile

Hi Laurent,

ok, if you have redeployed it means, the issue is with the CMS db

while upgrade, the plugin got corrupted, it seems

you can try to redeploy the mobile plugin ..

go to add/remove programs

go to your base version of BO ( you will get modify option only on base version )

check if mobile services are selected from the list of components

if yes, uncheck it   ( if not checked, check it )

click next and finish the installation

post that, you should not be able to see any ?? or SAP BI mobile application under CMC

we have removed the entire plugin.

now, go back to add/remove programs

click modify on base version

select the mobile services

click next and finish

check if you get the issue

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

The idea was very good, but unfortunately the uncheck/check of option doesn't solve the issue :-(, nor in Launchpad nor in CMC. For info, after the installation (by checking), I do a reboot of the BI server and redeploy the BI Service Webapps --> same trouble.

Any idea.

HI Laurent,

Very strange indeed.

The uncheck of plugin, should remove the option for mobile completely.

unless you have another application server hosted or something like that.

you can point your SIA to a blank CMS db. This will ensure that the issue is with cms db itself.

hence, we tried to reinstall the plugin

Thanks for your response, but we have only one node, it's a single server.
