Migration to ASE

Hi everybody.

We are interested in move our QA system from iSeries platform to Windows platform with ASE as database. As I can understand reading some documents it is mandatory to update or migrate our Solution Manager to a higher version (now it is 7.0 EhP1 and 7.1 is needed). In adittion our SAP ERP is 6.0 EhP1 (7.01) and 6.0 EhP5 (7.05) is the minimun required.

Can anybody confirm me if this is right?.

The Point is, that Basis 7.02 is required at least ...

Hi Volker for your quick response.

So I can't do a clean installation of 6.0 EhP2 on a clean windows server and then perform a heterogeneous system copy from the iSeries to the windows+ASE platform?.

hi,

no, you do not do an empty Installation, you do Export your current ERP and move it to Windows. then you do Need 7.02 Basis or higher ... and a skilled & certified Person ...

So we need to upgrade to 7.02 or higher. Thanks for your answers. We are just learning about ASE and using a QA system, so we don't have certified people for the time being.
