Hi Experts,

We have planned for Support pack upgrade on our SAP ECC Development

System, but unfortunately we have ended up with the tp error under CHECK_REQUIREMENTS phase :

ERROR: No connect due to DbSl Load Lib Failure

ERROR: environment variable dbms_type is not set.

ERROR: Connect to SID failed

Environment variables dbms_type, DIR_LIBRARY and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are

properly set for <sid>adm user when I check it from OS level:

However, when I check the environment variables from R3 end for env the necessary parameters are not set and R3trans -d  end up with error ?????

Absolutely no clue how it is differing from OS level to R3 !!!

Also we have upgraded the kernel, tp and DB Library files from 720 to

721_EXT butstill the same error.

Please advice how to avoid this error.

Regards,

Srikanth

Any reason why you are using the bash SHELL for the ecdadm user?

Maybe this could be the reason why you having this error.

202227 - Recommended login shells

Use C-Shell (csh) and restart SAP

Hi Srikanth,

Can you check the R3trans -d from Operating system level and share relevant logs.

If possible restart the application and database and check the results.

Hope this helps.

Hi Srikanth,

As per snap, please set the "dbms_type" variable in OS level..

If your database is Oracle, the value is "ORA"..

And share the trans.log for further analysis..

Hi Srikanth,

First restart the complete system & share the result from STMS --->transport tool ,if possible share the screenshot for same.

Also share trans.log file from OS.

Gaurav
