Transferring Supplier from ROS/SUS to ECC

We're looking at the configuration document for transferring ROS supplier into ECC.  I have 2 questions:

1.    Has anyone configured this is in their system and is using it?

2.    Does anyone know if XI/PI configuration is mandatory?

As I know, many users are using this scenario.

PI is mandatory for this configuration.
