Dear experts,
as a possible solution to a problem, we have referred to SAP Note 1112132 - The SAP BI Export Library.
The note finishes like this:
Save your entries and restart the BI base, or alternatively the entire Java server.
I can't restart the entire Java server, as it is production... Can you please kindly advise how to restart BI base only ?
This is SAP NetWeaver AS Java 7.31. Many thanks !!
You can probably use NWDS to restart a component.
Starting and Stopping Components - SAP NetWeaver Composition Environment - SAP Library
I have never tried it so I cannot guarantee that but you may give it a shot.
Another option would be to try to see if this is possible using Telnet.
Regards
RB

I don't currently have access to any AS JAVA having BI-JAVA but go to /nwa -> Operations -> Start & Stop -> Java Applications. You should be able to locate the respective BI Base Services. I would however advice against it and schedule for production downtime so that the portal can be restarted.
