Disp + work not starting

Hi All,

I am trying to install SOLMAN 7.1 SR in the same NW system.

When I am trying to install it takes long time to "Import Java" also it throws error as instance cannot start.Below is the error can any one tell me what is the problem?

Actually I am installing this to get the list of SP for NW system. Can any one tell me after Installing what is the procedure to get connected with NW system and get the Stack xml?

Attached the log? Is that can any one clarify the above questions?

It looks like you have an issue with the sapstartsrv program.

As dn2adm open a command prompt and run these commands and provide the output.

sapcontrol -nr 02 -function GetVersionInfo

sapcontrol -nr 02 -function GetProcessList

Have searched the whole system I cant find those log files.

I have tried installing SOLMAN in fresh system. Even though it showing the same "Cant start ABAP".

Hi Prakash

I am having having doubt on instance number and its port binding with previous instance, In the meantime, perform below;

1) close your sapinst menu

2) logon with dn1adm, stop your 1st instance,  i.e. DN1. stop sap from MMC, stop db (via SQL Manager ) and stop all SAP/DB services for DN1 instance via  windows Service Manager/Windows Manager (services.msc) , once stopped, log off with dn1adm

3) then log in with dn2adm, perform clean stop.

   stop sap, db, services for your 2nd instance..close you sapinst as well. kill any sap services, if u see it on task manager & log off.

4)  Log in with dn2adm for your 2nd instance, start service for DN2 , start DB, start SAP from MMC. Lets check, what is the status, attach dev_disp, dev_ms and dev_w0. let check by our experts..

DO NO start 1st instance until next some time....

I have logged in as DN2ADM.

Below is my logs attached.Please let me know you require any other info. How to start the listener?

If you are installing the Solution manager as DN1 then you should logon as DN1adm to start the SAP.

are these two product on same host? and are you using same database for both the product?

I am installing SOLMAN in DN2. So logged in as DN2.

yes same host but DB different.

When I am installing the ABAP instance was not starting and when i see the MMC the disp+work shows that cannot able to connect to Message server.

How can I make it to connect?

also, you should check or provide logs from sapinst.log and sapinst_dev.log (available under installation directory).

When I am running R3trans -d I am getting below message

This is R3trans version 6.23 (release 720 - 31.10.12 - 20:12:06).

R3trans=>sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

2EETW169 no connect possible: "connect failed with DBLI_RC_LOAD_LIB_FAILED."

R3trans finished (0012).

Before the agent stopping. It tells "not connected to message server". But my DB and Message server is running"?

Can any one suggest what will be the issue?

For "R3trans -d"  or "R3trans -x" to work , listener should be running, Can you check this service is running ?

Also, you should be logged in with sidadm (dn2adm)..is it so ?

The enque log shown the system is DN1 but the sapstart.log log says DN2

You need to clarify what these systems are and how they are connected.

What is DN1 ?

What is DN2 ?

This is what confuses me. What do you mean by "same instance" ?

Do you mean to say that you are installing Solution Manager with SID DN2 on the same server with its own database ?

In that case why does the dev_enqadm log file shows DN1 ?

This appears to me that you are installing a Java stack on top of an ABAP system.

You need to be clear with the issue.

Are you having issue with the ABAP system ? What is the output of R3trans -d ?

If the return code is not 0000 then check the trans.log file.

If the return code is alright then start the SAP system using SAP MMC and check the trace files generated at E:\usr\sap\DN2\DVEBMGS02\work directory

Try to provide complete and precise information regarding the issue you face.

I am having SAP MII on the NW java stack.

Now I need to upgrade the NW. So I am installing the SOLMAN on the same server.

When I am trying to install, I am getting that "Instance taking long time to start". When I tried to start the instance manually it not starting and i can see the "Disp+Work" is stopped.

I cant find any logs there. Please let me know how to proceed with?

The Main aim is to generate the stack XML for NW upgrade.
