Need help: Error 'An exception occurred' in 'My Dashboards' WEB Dynpro 7.1 SP08

Hello Experts,

I'm wondering if anybody come accross this issue. I executed WEB Dynpro 'My Dashboards' and getting very generic error 'An exception occurred'

WEB Dynpro: WDY_APPLICATION - My Dashboards

Web Dynpro Applicat.    GENERIC_DASHBOARD_VIEWER

Description             My Dashboard

Application Config.

Alias PERSONAL_DASHBOARD

There are no details whatsoever for this error in logs or in help

Any idea what does it mean and how to fix this? It's in SOLMAN 7.1 SP08

Hi MM,

Can you make sure the role SAP_SM_DASHBOARDS_ADMIN has been added, correctly activated
and generated for the user?

Hi Roland,

Thanks a lot for advice, this solves the issue, but I'd like to have 2 levels of access for my users:

1. with SAP_SM_DASHBOARDS_ADMIN role - for Admin Users

and

2. with SAP_SM_DASHBOARDS_DISP* roles - for Display Users

The problem is: with *DISP* roles I'm still getting this error.

Any advice how to fix this for Display Users? Is there any other role which can be added to Display users and eliminate this error, but at the same time restricts access to Administration Tasks?
