hi friends iam new to sd module. i struck with a problem that sales area is not defined for the customers,how to solve this problem.plz send me the solution.

Hi Venkat,

Are you talking about defining customer groups? The customer group is created for sales data in the customer master for every sales area.

This detail automatically copied into the sales documents at header and item level. Here, you will find the customer group on the detail screen for general business data.

Actions

1. Specify an alphanumeric key which can have up to 2 characters and a description for the customer groups.

2. Make sure that the customer groups are entered in the customer master records.

Use XD01/VD01 to extend / define customer master using XD01/VD01.

Hi Venkat,

you have to extend / define customer master using XD01/VD01. The customer you are using is not defined for the sales are a you are using just extend the customer you are using is to be defined to the sales area you are using.

this should solve problem

Hi,

If you had done the assignments, check whether the assignments are done correctly.

If the above is done correctly, then check whether the settings in VOR1 and VOR2, so that the common distribution channels and common divisions are maintained.

Uusally people generally copy all the organizational elements in ides from 1000 .

AS it is maintained under the above concept, we have to maintain the same under the above.

Though you may not have many channels and divisions, assign the same and available channels and divisions.

You require to Extend the customer to required sales area. You may have created say Customer X, for Company Code '0001' & Sales Area '0001' / 01 / 10. However you are creating sales order for say sales area '0001' / 02 / 10, then Transaction Code XD01, you require to select the account group say Sold to party, Customer 'X', Company Code '0001' & Sales area '0001' / 02 / 10 & create the customer.

You can extend the customer in the above described manner. Once you have created the customer, ensure to create the sales order from start.
