Hi All,

We are on Solution Manager 7.1, ORACLE 10.2.0.5.0, Windows server 2008 R2.

When I try to start the server it gives following error in dev_w0...

SQL error 376:

C  *** ERROR => Error 376 in stmt_fetch() from oci_execute_stmt(), orpc=0

[dbsloci.c    16295]

C  *** ERROR => ORA-00376 occurred when executing SQL stmt (parse error offset=0)

I have seen so many threads but they have error description infront of  SQL error 376: as shown below but in my case SQL error 376: is blank as above....

C     SQL error 376: 'ORA-00376: file 23 cannot be read at this time

C  ORA-01110: data file 23: 'F:\ORACLE\GCP\SAPDATA2\SR3_12\SR3.DATA12''

C  *** ERROR => Error 376 in stmt_execute() from oci_execute_stmt(), orpc=0

[dbsloci.c    12714]

C  *** ERROR => ORA-376 occurred when executing SQL stmt (parse error offset=0)

The logs of dev_w0 as follows.........

Hi,

Actually we have two database on one server i.e. for SOLMAN and Quality.

For connect to database of SOLMAN, I have reached to location where sqlplus.exe resides, and run the sqlplus.exe file, when I enter the login credentials it gives me an following error.

I have used the user= <sid>adm , and its password. From which user I have to login?

<sid>adm is a member of ORA_SOL_DBA, ORA_SOL_OPER

I have checked the environmental variables following entries are already maintained.

dbs_ora_schema

dbs_ora_tnsname

ORACLE_HOME

ORACLE_SID

When I run command r3trans -d, output as follows....

Please help me out.

Regards..

Swapnil.

Hi Swapnil,

Please login to the server using sidadm user for solution manager. It should have all the environment variables required for solman system.

Using this you may run sqlplus "/as sysdba"

Then perform the required sql commands .

Deepak Kori

hi,

pls you database is opened ,

using R3trans -D

if not return 000

pls check database status

sqlplus / as sysdba;

sql> select file#,status from v$datafile;

FILE# STATUS

———- ——-

1 SYSTEM

2 ONLINE

3 ONLINE

4 RECOVER

if datafile need recovery pls recover it and take it status to online

using

recover datafile F:\ORACLE\GCP\SAPDATA2\SR3_12\SR3.DATA12';

alter datafile F:\ORACLE\GCP\SAPDATA2\SR3_12\SR3.DATA12' online

after using R3trans -d to check  database connect.

Dear Deepak and Josef,

Thanks for your valuable points.

I will follow the note 328785 and run the command SELECT VERSION FROM SVERS and get back to you.

@Josef I have seen so many threads they have detailed error description but in my case its not available so I have small doubt in this, so I just asked.

Regards..

Swapnil.

Dear Deepak and Gaurav,

Thanks for your inputs.

I have checked the note 328785

But in this note there is the detail log infront of ORA-00376 i.e. file cannot be read or file cannot be modified etc etc.

But in my dev_wo logs its blank,

SQL error 376:

C  *** ERROR => Error 376 in stmt_fetch() from oci_execute_stmt(), orpc=0

[dbsloci.c    16295]

C  *** ERROR => ORA-00376 occurred when executing SQL stmt (parse error offset=0)

so does this NOTE help me?

Regards..

Swapnil.

Hi Swapnil,

Please connect to database using sysdba and excute the below command

SELECT VERSION FROM SVERS ;

Paste the results.

Other observation is

Solution Manager 7.1, ORACLE 10.2.0.5.0, Windows server 2008 R2.

You are running on the non-Supported version of Oracle. Request you to upgrade the same to 11.2.0.3 atleast.

Hope this helps.

Oracle SQL error 376 just means this:
file <n> cannot be read at this time
Have a look at the friendly Oracle manual, in case you don't trust me.

It shouldn't matter whether or not that additional explaining text is there.
It may be release dependent.

So I join those who already suggested SAP note 328785.
But of course it is your choice whether or not you will accept the help offered.
