Hi All,

In one our client, we are implementing SAP DMS and we have installed content server.

Content Repositry and Content categories are created and running successfully.

On Configuration side,

Kpro selected for the docuemnt types which we have created.

Data Carrier - Below config has made

Define data carrier type "Server, front end:.

   Type : PC

Description: PC for front end computer

   Path: C:temp\

   Online access : Selected

Define server and files and folders:

    Data carrier : PC

    Type : PC

     Description : Personal Computer

Identify frontend Computers:

     Front end computer : Default

     Data carr type: PC

     Network add : Default

Description : Default for local PC

Define mount points /logical drive:

     Data carrier : PC

     Data carrier type : PC

Prefix for access path : C:\

Workstation application has been defined properly.

Now the issue is : I can able to check in the original file onto the Content Category (Which we created on new content server)

When i am opening thru CV02N/CV03N for change and display, The original document is not getting opened and the temp file also not created in the defined path : C:temp\ and

am getting this error  "File C:\temp\_rram04.doc cannot be opened" and the error message is 26107.

Please help me on this issue.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi All,

Sorry for the late update.

The issue was resolved by the changing the settings in SAPHTTP connection settings.

We went to SM59 txn (Configuring RFC Connection,

For SAPHTTP

Technical setting is changed from 'Start on Application server' to 'Start on Front end Workstation'.

Thanks a lot for all your support.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi,

This seems to be a network issue.

Check your connection in OCA0 tcode->select your repository->check for test connection & send certificate.

Check if both are working properly otherwise discuss with your basis team.

HI Ravi ,

Better to restart SAP Content server and test connections properly. I hope that you are working on latest ECL viwer version.  Make sure database manager tool is active.

Hi Ravi,

Check in the system if you have access to temp folder? C:\temp\?

In workstation application, have you Define workstation application in network for application type 1: Display 2: Change    for Data carr. type PC?

Hi Tilak,

I am having access to C:\temp\ and workstation application has defined for change and display.

And these were setup already.

Temp file is not getting created in the temp folder while displaying or changing the original. But the temp file name has been displayed in the error message.

Do i need to create any Environmental setup ( ie - Hostname) for this?

But i can able to display or change the Originals which i stored in SAP Database on the same setup.

But in Content server the above issue is occcuring.

Is there any issue on Content server installation?

One more thing, how to cross check the Original has been stored in Content sever?

Please help me on this.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

If its content server and not file system storage, did you install MaxDB database ?

If yes, Have your performed relevant configuration using OAC0 and CSADMIN tcodes.

Hope this helps.

Hi Deepak,

Thanks for your reply.

We installed MaxDB & Configured contenet server using the above mentioned Tcodes.

It will allow me to change the document by selected "Process under..." option. But its not allowing me to direct change or display, which will through the error ""File C:\temp\_RRAVI03.doc cannot be opened"

mentioned earlier.

I can able to display or change the originals stored in SAP Database (DMS_ST_CAT) which is coming along with SAP ECC.

But its not working for the installed content server.

Please provide me the other options to check.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Thilak,

I have checked the link provided by you. Seems like file has not saved in content server. I am working with my Basis team on Content server.

I will come back soon on this. Thanks a lot for your reply.

How to cross check the documents, whether stored in content server or not? (Other than lock symbol)

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

First thing, My name is Tilak not Thilak

Here is the answer for your query:

Using DMS_KPRO_READ you can check the files in Content server. where the files are phsyically stored in SAPDB

go to SE38 in Program Text box  put  DMS_KPRO_READ

Select Subobject as Source Code

Click on Display button

then Execute it or Press F8 (short cut for direct processing)

Enter Document Type

         Document  Number

         Document  Part

         Document Version

and execute it

It shows you all the detail what you want

PHIO-ID is the ID of your Document Type which is stored in Content Server with your Repository Name

Hi Tilak,

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I checked thru the program. It shows the document has been stored in Content server and i can able to download the Original file.

But in the front end (CV02N /CV03N), am unable to Display it. (Its not creating the temp file in the defined directory).

Our basis team is working on it and awaiting for their reply.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

Are you using Filesystem storage or HTTP Content server storage ?

You need to check-in the document to the storage first (look for lock symbol against the attachments) to ensure that it can read from other locations.

Hope this helps.
