One Idoc to N Idocs

Hi All,

Our scenario is to split one IDOC into 3 Idocs.....

Our IDOC has 3 segments of different type. Can we split the IDOC into 3 IDOCs with each  target message containing only one segment. One message should split into 3 messages to the same target based on the 3 segments.

If you extrapolate it, it should be 1 IDOC with N same segments (based on segment type) should be split into N IDOC messages.

Receiver is file...........

Is it possible??

Hi Vishnu - Change the IDOC occurrence in the message mapping(signature tab) from 0.1 to 0..unbounded and map the segment(source) to target IDOC

Search for IDOC multi mapping and you'll find many blogs..

In your question it's mentioned as IDOC but it's the same process..

Hi Vishnu,

You can achieve this with graphical mapping, ff you only need to create fix no of IDOC (not based on source occurrence.

1. export the target IDOC XSD, change the occurrence of idoc node to unbounded and import as external def
2. Use the external def. as target structure in mapping.
3. Duplicate the target idoc node and map to each source structure

There is no other change req. in configuration of operational mapping.
