Running 64Bit Dialog Instance connected to 32Bit CI and 32Bit DB

Is it possible to have the following

1 - Central Instance NW04 32Bit (Windows 2003 32Bit)

2. DB (ORA 9.2.x) 32Bit (Windows 2003 32Bit)

3. Dialog Instance NW04 64Bit (Windows 2003 64Bit)

I really want to utilize 64bit memory improvements but am not in a position to migrate our CI+DB.

I have heard that the SAPCPE will cause problems if it trys to sync the 32Bit CI Kernel with the 64Bit Kernel on the DI, but SAPCPE can be turned OFF.

I have asked SAP about this and the question is deemed consulting. So here I am at the ever reliable SDN Forums.

Thanks for any help provided

Thanks for the update

I have checked the note but do not see its relevance, It talks about connecting Windows DI to a UNIX backend (CI+DB) which I can only asuume assume is 64bit anyway ?.

What I simply tempted to do is try it but what I really wanted was an SAP "Its OK to do this"

carefully reading the installation documentation would have taken you to:

SAP Web Application

Server 6.40 SR1 ABAP

on Windows: Oracle

Part I - Planning and Preparation

Document version: 1.00 ‒ December 22, 2004

Chapter 1.4.1 SAP Notes for the Installation, note 786673 - SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 on Windows: Oracle.

chapter:

16/aug/06 3 (ABAP): Dialog instance in mixed enviroment

contains the necessary information.

sapcpe is working in mixed mode!
