Hi,
We want to address a requirement like this:
An outbound delivery is created in ERP against a STO. This delivery is distributed to EWM. The delivery items are picked and put in a 'box', the box represents a handling unit. When the PGI happens for this delivery, the stock of the 'box' should get reduced and consumption should be posted for the main item as well as for the 'box'.
We are ok if the 'box' is picking relevant or not (either way we are ok), but the comsumption of the 'box' is a must. We need an automated solution - manual addition of 'box' as a new line item in the outbound delivery will not solve my purpose.
Please suggest the best solution for this.
Regards.
Hi Experts,
I have a different scenario here.
We need a packaging material to send delivery notes inside it. This should send with transportation unit.It means that we will have to create a handling unit and send to customer together with Transportation unit. This handling unit and transportation unit relation is 1:1.
How we can generate this and send to customer without reference to ODO? We are aiming for the simple loading - but empty HU cannot be loaded .
Thanks in advance,
Jobi

Allow Item type OPAC for your delivery type in config and then click on the create button which is there at item level. But you may need additional data like goods movement bin assigned for material.
Note that this is independent to the number of HU packed in delivery. But after goods issue your packaging material Inventory will decrease from EWM and ECC also.
Hi Sandip,
We have a similar requirement, done the necessary config.
Can able to add the outbound line item with OPAC Item Type and but its is treating as Picking relevant, how do we make it Not picking relevant.
Goods Movement Bin is also configured with below details.
Doc Type / Item Type / Wh.no# / GMBin Det / Stor. Bin GM Posting
Kindly suggest

Hi Ramesh,
are you using 9.1? then use the above mentioned "automatic packaging item creation".
The OPAC item type has several profiles assigned (customizing). For example status profile and quantity profile. There the status/quantities for picking and planning picking are activated.
You could try to create a copy of OPAC and the profiles and then adjust the profiles so that they are not picking relevant.
For testing (only!) you could also directly deactivate this for OPAC but I would for real working highly advice to use a separate item type and profiles.
Not sure if this is sufficiant. basically it is more or less the same what happens in BC set /SCWM/DLV_OUTBOUND_PACK (mentioned above) as also here a new item type is created with new profiles.
Best regards
Markus

One more though to your requirement - If your packaging materials are not EWM managed and only you need to consume the inventory then you can activate and goods issue Badi. As soon as your PGI is done in EWM, while posting GI in ECC, it can trigger your custom code to do the consumption of no. of quanity of box you used during the packing of outbound delivery in EWM.

Hi,
using VAS like Virendra and Suraj suggest is one way, but requires the pack spec and the VAS step.
Without EWM your requirement is actually quite simple, as in ERP you can create automatically an item for a packaging material. As you can see in note 898987 this does not work with EWM, according some other notes in only works with certain settings.
With EWM 9.1 this functionallity is directyl in EWM: Quote: " As of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) 9.1, you can configure the system to automatically generate packaging items based on handling unit (HU) information during delivery processing in a goods issue (GI) process."
For details see the release notes for 9.1, the link is here: http://help.sap.com/ewm91

Hi Suraj,
can't really say much about it, I have looked at the customizing, but not used it. There is just one node in customizing, under outbound deliveries, if you have a 9.1 system available, it is quite self explanatory, it also describes in the help the BC-set you should activate.

Hi Suraj,
If you have a 9.1 system available, customising is straightforward
First you need to activate the BC set /SCWM/DLV_OUTBOUND_PACK(which creates item types OPHU etc.).
Next, You would need to maintain the settings under the node:
SPRO->Extended Warehouse Management->Goods Issue Process->Outbound Delivery->Automatically Generate Packaging Items
There you would find three dialog structures for,
a)Activation of Deliveries i.e. for what all document types you want to activate the automatic packaging item creation(for eg OUTB/OUTS)
b)Relevance of Packmaterials i.e. for what all packaging material types you want to activate the the automatic packaging item creation
Here, you would activate the packaging material type for 'BOX'.
c)Determination of Deliveries i.e. here you define the item type and stock type the system uses for the automatically generated packaging items(for eg. OPHU and F2 respectively).
Additionally,
Assign a Fixed Bin to the packaging material 'BOX' using /SCWM/BINMAT(that is the bin from which the packaging material must be picked).
Also, Define goods movement bin determinaion as 'bin only determined from fixed bin product master' for the item type (OPHU) using /SCWM/GMBIN_DET.

Hope this helps,
Anshu
Hi Sumit Talukdar
Take this with POSC outbound with VAS packing,
step one picking
step two packing with VAS. (need to create pack spec accordingly)
here remember packaging mat need to flag consumption flag , in product master
keep the stock in particular consummation bin tcode >>/SCWM/73000001 - Assign Storage Bins for VAS Consumption Posting ..
"""
Define Consumption Relevance for VAS Auxiliary Products
For the VAS consumption posting of auxiliary products, you have to mark the relevant auxiliary products as consumption-relevant for VAS.
You must assign a storage bin to the work centers in your warehouse number or to your warehouse number from which stock of the auxiliary products can be consumed (goods issue posted) when a VAS order is confirmed.""
step 3 and 4 >>and load and pgi
in this case packing mat will be come in vas packing with consummation.
I hope this is what you are looking for....

Hi Sumit,
You can try EWM VAS with auxiliary packaging material consumption posting. Check the link below.
