IDOC (ARTMAS) for each article / variant

Hi all,

For one of our customers, we have following issue:

When they create or change an article, change pointers are triggered to send an outbound idoc (ARTMAS).

When this article contains some variants, still only 1 idoc is triggered with all variants included.

We would like to send 1 idoc for each article / variant.

So if the article exists with 10 other variants, we should have 11 idocs.

Is this possible to setup?

Thx!

Regards,

Hans

Hi Hans,

Unfortunately the ARTMAS idoc does not support your request.  It has to be a Generic / variant Relation.

In the E1BPE1VARKEY segment you need to have the Generic and its variants have to be in the E1BPE1AUSPRT segment.

Thanks,

Hi Kishore,

It's OK for us to send the variant article with the E1BPE1AUSPRT segment.

But, instead of sending 1 IDOC with the generic article + all variants, is it possible to split everything up into single article IDOC's?

For example:

1 IDOC for the generic article (with E1BPE1VARKEY segment)

1 IDOC for variant 1 (with E1BPE1AUSPRT segment)

1 IDOC for variant 2 (with E1BPE1AUSPRT segment)

...

Thx!

Hans

Hi Hans,

Yes, it is possible to send each Variant separately. Actually in our environment we have the Variants coming at different times, based on the season.  Like for a Style during Spring we have Yellow and Green, during holidays we do Red.  So we generate different Variants at different times.  Just remember to provide correct information in the segments, like <Segment>-FUNCTION field (Create / change).  First time Style should have '005' and later it can have '009'.

But should be like below

IDOC1 for the generic article (with E1BPE1VARKEY segment)(New)

IDOC1 for variant 1 (with E1BPE1AUSPRT segment)(New)

IDOC2 for the generic article (with E1BPE1VARKEY segment) (change)

IDOC2 for variant 2 (with E1BPE1AUSPRT segment)(New)

IDOC3 for the generic article (with E1BPE1VARKEY segment) (change)

IDOC3 for variant 3 (with E1BPE1AUSPRT segment)(New)

Also if the client has too many variants the size of the idoc could be huge as you know ARTMAS idoc has complete information for an article.

Cheers

Hi Kishore,

Any idea how we can set this up?

As we've currently 1 IDOC that contains all the variants, we want to send all those variants separately to an external system!

Thx!

Hi Hans,

Sure can help you, send me a sample idoc with like 3 or 4 variants, i shall split it. So that would be good enough for you to work with.

Thanks,
