why we do java import and export for dual stack systems.

Hello Experts,

During dual stack system refresh why we do java import and export.

during restore entire data will restore along with java schema.

why we are doing import and export.

could you please explain the actual reason.

in export folder we could see only one JAVA directory and LABEL.ASC.

Java stack holds application data at the file system level (/usr/sap/SID/JC00). Also the configuration of the Java stacks are saved in the database level and also present in the configuration files at the file system level. sapinst will take care of all the configuration changes during the export and import.

The export and import for Java stacks was mandatory for the Java systems based on the previous Netweaver releases. The systems based on the newer Netweaver release don't need export and import
