Add standalone HostAgent to SAP MC

Hi all,

I've just installed SAP Host Agent onto our standalone SAP Content Server and wondered how to add it to the SAP Management Console.  The usual Instance Nr entry 99 in this case, doesn't work and when I've check the open ports the usual port 5<instance_number>13 isn't open.  When I've checked the sapstartsrv.log it shows :-

Webservice named pipe thread started, listening on port \\.\pipe\sapcontrol_99

Webservice thread started, listening on port 1128

So how do I get SAP MC to connect to it?

I will point out that SOLMAN connects to it just fine.

Thanks

Craig

Just to clarify, you don't add HostAgents to the MMC you add SMD agents to an MMC.

And perhaps a screenshot being supplied may help get everyone on the same page with what you are looking at?

Thanks Billy just what I needed to know, however I think you have your acronyms wrong.  I was talking about SAP MC (Management Console) not the SAP Snap-In for Microsoft Management Console.

Thanks again

Excellent clarification, wtg M$ for having to have something specialized from the rest of the world!!

Next thing you know they are going to go out of their way to use the wrong slashes in file paths too...
