One or more package have to be applied using SUM

Dear Experts,

I am installed ERP DEV system and BW system version 7.4 on aix 7.1 oracle 11.2.

I want to install BI Content in BW system but due to following error unable to do this.

our solution manager not connected to sap that is why unable to download patch Sps and stack.xml file.

My query is

1. can we update patched without SUM if yes then how ?

2. If without SUM tool we cannot update patch then stack.xml is necessary ?

Please guide me

Hi Shahid,

1. Patches can be applied using SPAM

2. Yes Stack.XML is necessary to apply add-ons. Everyone here will suggest you to fix the solman to SAP connectivity issue and create a new MOPZ, generate a stack.xml file and use SUM to update.

You cannot use SPAM / SAINT for SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP 7.40

The only option is to use SUM.

Hi Shahid,

Please refer SCN doc for usage of SUM for patch application & add-on installation

stack.xml is necessay while using SUM and without SUM.
