BOM Redlining in PLM

PLM Gurus,

Is there a step by step process of enabling BOM Redlining? I know there are a couple of BADI's available for the BOM Redlining.Is this something that I can activate through a config or do I have use these BADI's as a Enhancement.I would like to have a step by step process implementing these BADI's. Any inputs is much appreciated.

Hi Jo,

BOM redlining works without BADIs out of the box with SAP ERP EhP 6 / PLM 7.02. What are you trying to achieve?

I was able to get the redlining working.I thought I might have to do some customization of BADI's.

Its really great to have guru's like you.

As Ulf wrote, it will work without BAdIs. Just make sure business function /PLMU/WEB_UI_3 (and pre-requisites) are activated. There are code checks all over the place to see whether the functionality is active or not. Notice that BOM redlining scope is only items and sub items, for example you can't redline header values which is something we realized quite late in the game.
